An improved selection, Forest Green® Hungarian Oak grows smaller than the species with the same upright symmetrical canopy and glossy deeply lobed leaves that are resistant to leaf spot fungus. Native to the Balkan region between Italy and Hungary, it grows up to 36 inches a year and is drought tolerant once established. Deciduous in the winter and providing excellent shade in summer. Preferring well drained soil, it is an excellent choice for sandy loam locations.
