A stunning tropical specimen plant, Variegated Elephant Ear grows in an upright umbrella shape with wide variegated leaves. Wonderful planted in tropical gardens as well as water gardens, it is a moisture lover that should not be allowed to dry out. Variegated Elephant Ear is evergreen in mild climates and dies back in freezing weather. Unbalanced fertilizer may cause this plant to revert to solid green leaves, therefore a balanced formula is recommended. A thick mulch will help insulate roots in hot and cold weather.
