Native to the Eastern United States, Black Select River Birch combines dramatic cinnamon colored peeling bark with glossy green leaves, heat tolerance and resistance to birch borers. Water loving but adaptable, it is a useful tree for landscaping in heavy soils. Pyramidal when young, it forms a large upright rounded canopy in maturity.
