Fishbone Prayer Plant is a Brazilian native grown for its dramatic foliage reminiscent of a fishbone pattern. Like other Prayer Plants, it closes it’s leaves at night as if in prayer. Great as an office plant or on a bookcase or table, Fishbone Prayer Plant is also non-toxic and safe for pets.

To keep Prayer Plants thriving pay attention to temperature, light and water. As a tropical plant, they are sensitive to cold and will not tolerate harsh direct sun. Indirect bright light or flourescent light is perfect for them. The harsh chemicals in chlorinated water are damaging to their leaves, so be sure to use water that is free of chlorine, softeners and hard minerals. Instead, use room temperature rainwater, neutral well water, distilled or filtered water, or bottled water. Fishbone Prayer Plants like to dry out occasionally between waterings. They can be fertilized monthly or twice monthly with any good quality house plant fertilizer at half strength during the growing season. Stop fertilizing and reduce watering frequency in fall and winter when growth slows.
