‘Wildfire’ Tupelo Tree is a fantastic US Native with a wide range of seasonal color. New leaves emerge red and then turn green. In autumn, they turn yellow orange before falling. A moderate grower that makes an excellent shade tree, ‘Wildfire’ was selected for its fantastic color and retains all the desirable characteristics of its species. Tolerant of wet, boggy soils but also perfectly happy with average water. Tupelo flowers are small and inconspicuous but still very attractive to beneficial pollinators, and its pollen is a prized source for Tupelo honey. Also known as Black Gum Tree.
