A Mediterranean native, Chaste Tree is as beautiful as it is tough. Fragrant racemes of lilac purple flowers emerge from late spring to early fall, attracting butterflies and beneficial insects to the garden. Drought tolerant and adaptable to all soil types, it is commonly found in a low branching vase shaped multi-trunked form but is also trainable as a single trunk tree. Small gray green leaves form larger fans against gray bark that becomes fissured with age.
