Desert Willow is a small to medium moderately fast growing drought tolerant tree with beautiful dark pink blooms. ‘Bubba’ is a seedless selection which will attract hummingbirds and beneficial pollinators but won’t create messy volunteer seedlings all over your yard. The lightly fragrant flowers emerge all summer long and its leaves are deciduous in very cold temperatures but remain in mild climates. Waterwise and firewise, Chilopsis is a US Native tree originating in the southwest including California. Desert Willow is an excellent choice for dry gardens and xeric landscapes. It is susceptible to root rot if not given adequate drainage.
