Fiddle Leaf Fig is one of the most iconic and popular indoor plants and it’s easy to see why. With their tall vertical habit and glossy green leaves, they’re the ideal statement plant for home or office. With proper placement and care, they’re easy to keep happy.
Fiddle Leaf Figs like bright diffused light. For example, a spot near a sunny window with a sheer curtain is ideal. Once you find the perfect spot, rotate the pot from time to time to encourage even growth. Protect them from scorching sun and harsh drafts or sudden temperature shifts, such as in front of air conditioner or heating vents and plant them in well drained soil to avoid waterlogging their roots. During the growing season, water when the top 1″ of soil feels dry. In cool winter months, water a little less. Although Fiddle Leaf Figs don’t need fertilizer during the winter, during the growing months they feed fairly heavily to maintain the growth of their large leaves. Utilize any good quality houseplant fertilizer or look for one specifically formulated for Fiddle Leaf Figs.
