‘Fuji’ Apples are one of the best and most beloved varieties available to the home gardener. Originating in Japan and known for being super sweet and extra crisp, Fuji apples are excellent for fresh eating and baking and they store well. Attractive to beneficial insects, Fuji apples ripen from mid-September to October and require less than 500 chilling hours. They make good pollinators for other apple varieties and are self-fruitful although they will set more fruit in the presence of other apple types. Fuji trees do take several years to mature but will reward you with abundant harvests after they reach fruiting size.
