Mammillaria Cactus form ornamental clumps of individual cactus plants with bright circlets of blooms. Mammillaria kissingiana has dark pink flowers, gold spines and cottony tufts of white fiber that give it a deceptively soft appearance. Mammillarias are native to Mexico where they grow in arid rocky canyons. They are well adapted to heat and sun, but prefer to be dry in winter and do not tolerate wet feet.
