Native to the high mountain slopes of Argentina and Bolivia, Pasacana Tree Cactus is similar in appearance to Saguaro but usually remains single trunked until late in its life. It forms a massive green trunk with orange spines that become tufted with white hair in maturity. A slow grower that has been known to live up to 300 years, it has a narrow range in its native habitat and prefers protection from hard frost and winter wet.
Reference note: this cactus is also known as Echinopsis atacamensis subs. pasacana.
