Philodendron evansii was one of the most popular varieties due to its cold tolerance and large size but has now become difficult to find. A highly desirable hybrid, it was created by Morgan “Bill” Evans who designed the original jungle gardens at Disneyland. Tropical in appearance and fast growing, they are prized for their showy evergreen leaves and grow large enough to form a screen or lush backdrop. Preferring bright filtered light and well drained, moist, rich soils. Philodendron can be grown in containers, indoors, in atriums and outdoors on patios.
