Pink Muhly Grass is a US native grass with finely textured green leaves and showy ornamental pink plumes. Forming graceful rounded clumps, it adds textural interest to the landscape even in winter. Excellent as a ground cover, it is fast growing and drought tolerant once established. Recommended as an alternative to invasive grasses, Pink Muhly Grass is recommended by the California PlantRight Program. Adaptable to poor soil and difficult locations with reflective heat, it is well suited to rock gardens and near swimming pools. Considered an herbaceous perennial, in remains evergreen in mild climates and may die back to the ground where winters are cold. It will look its best if spent blooms are cut back before each growing season. Division is not necessary but can be performed every 2-3 years in early spring if desired.
