Shumard Red Oak is a stately shade tree perfect for large yards and open spaces. Native to the Eastern United States, it is pyramidal in shape when young and becomes more rounded and open in habit when mature. With strong spreading branches, Shumard Red Oak is adaptable to clay, loam and sandy soils and is drought tolerant once established. Sometimes called Spotted Oak, its leaves are attractively laced with gold, red and russet in Autumn.
