Sweet Olive is a fragrant evergreen shrub useful trained as a small tree or espalier. Small white flowers appear in spring, filling the air with a strong sweet apricot fragrance. Excellent in difficult spots with clay soil and ideal near a walkway or flanking an entry where the sweet scent can be enjoyed. Victorian in its charm, the sweet flowers can be harvested and dried for tea. Some protection from harsh afternoon sun is needed in hot climates.
