Native to the deserts and low forests of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. Toothpick Cactus is one of the most widely grown columnar cactus species. Tall growing and tree-like with branching arms and long silver spines that resemble toothpicks. A night blooming cactus, it has white petaled flowers that remain open until the next morning. Prefers well drained porous soil. Protect from hard freezes and keep dry in cold wet weather.
