Excellent as a ground cover, in planters and as edging along paths. Adaptable to full sun in coastal climates. Prefers protection from harsh afternoon sun inland. Useful under trees, bringing brightness to shady spots. Tolerates mild periods of drought once established, particularly if planted in cooler, shadier spots. Divide clumps every 2-3 years in early spring.
