‘Jewel’ Variegated Giant Yucca is a colorful fast-growing yucca with multiple stems and a tree-like habit. It is ideal for dry gardens and difficult spots where a tall, upright, brightly colored beauty is wanted. ‘Jewel’ thrives in well drained soil with minimal water but can be watered regularly in summertime if rapid growth is desired. It has soft flexible leaves and showy white flowers that are attractive to hummingbirds and beneficial pollinators. It will reach 15′ in height or more, so be sure to plant it where it has room both above ground and below. Since yucca form tubers underground we don’t recommend planting them where you may not want to dig extensively later, such as near foundations or pipes. They are best situated in full sun at the back of the border, in a spacious corner or as an architectural anchor plant in a large open space. In the right spot, yuccas are invaluable. They’re extremely tough, long lived and require almost no care to maintain.
