A striking addition to the collectors garden, King Ferdinand Agave was once thought to be a form of Queen Victoria Agave but is now recognized as a distinct species. Although it has similar white bud imprints on its leaves, they grow larger and have a unique gray green metallic color. Smooth leaf margins give way to stout terminal spines that are nearly black in color. The overall appearance is architectural and mature plants are showstoppers in the garden. For best color and leaf width, plant in full sun. Prefers well drained soil. Cold hardy to 10-15F.
