Somewhat palm-like in appearance, Beaked Yucca forms a round head of thin flexible powder blue leaves atop a central trunk, with each leaf ending in a small terminal spine. Beautiful and drought tolerant, it is much more cold tolerant than any tropical palm. Native to the Western Texas and Northern Mexico where it is found growing on limestone ridges, faster growth can be achieved in alkaline soil. Typically single trunked with one central rosette, occasionally multiple branches will form on older mature plants.
